This utility will change the name of the local Administrator account on a target computer. You can use the Install Tool from Admin Arsenal to utilize this utility and change the Administrator account name on one or more computers.

From the Deploy Software window add RenameAdmin.exe as the Install File. In the Command Line field enter in the name of the desired Administrator account.

NOTE: The new Administrator name must be less than 16 characters. Spaces are not allowed.

Usage:

RenameAdmin.exe NewName

The above example would rename the built-in Administrator account to NewName.

Error Messages:

• Install Error 1 = No valid username was passed as an argument
• Install Error 2 = New Username already exists on computer
• Install Error 3 = New Username exceeds 15 characters
